FROM MIMI, WITH LOVE
There has always existed deep down inside of me an overwhelming desire to unite and empower young girls and women. Especially black women. Waistbeads are a vessel and literal tool used to anchor women to themselves, each other, to their desires, to energy,
to vibrations,
to their beauty
and to their intentions.

To belong. An innate desire of human nature. We NEED love.
How can we love each other without FULLY loving ourselves enough first?
Tying on a waistbead baptizes you into a new you and a tribe of sisters dedicated to falling in love with themselves again
or inciting self love for the first time.

I'm praying that I can improve the bonds, health, hearts, and minds of women, one bead, one strand, and one belly at a time.
About Mimi
Mimi is a mom, chef, entrepreneur, and dreamer with a passion for Women’s rights, Black rights, and love. She not only created her own natural body and hair care business, Body Culinaire, but for years also worked as a Chef and Food Operations specialist for some of LA’s top restaurants. Mimi has not been featured in publications such as Glamour, Essence, Darling Magazine, the Huffington Post and Refinery29 but dreams of being featured one day! She holds a Culinary Degree from Le Cordon Bleu and has a 6-year old daughter named Xena, The Warrior Princess.
Mimi, a chef at heart, created Turquoise + Salt to feed and nourish the image women have of themselves by teaching them to find their inner light and to let it glow!
Why Turquoise + Salt?
Turquoise and salt represent precious sacred elements that Mimi holds dear to her heart. Not only is it her favorite color, but turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection, strong and opaque, yet soothing to the touch, healing to the eye, as if carved from an azure heaven and slipped to earth. Its unique shade of blue, often blue-green, lends it name, Turquoise, to all things of this tranquil hue.
